About the event
A faith-based community is often a place where families and youth turn to for guidance and support in times of uncertainty, chaos, and stress. This session will explore the importance of brain and body states of young people and adults, how a developing brain behaves and handles adversity and what the long-term consequences of childhood adversity are.
Michael McKnight will share key components to building resiliency in youth and adults as well as strategies that can be used to buffer someone’s stress response and to promote emotional regulation.
Our brains are wired for connection and thrive best when meaningful connections with others are experienced. The presentation will focus on ways to create environments that promote connectedness, support, and growth for youth and adults.
