BUILDING A HEALTHIER CAPE MAY COUNTY
BY REDUCING SUBSTANCE MISUSE
WE ARE a group of community members representing: Youth, parents, schools, law enforcement, youth-serving organizations, the faith-based community, substance misuse treatment agencies, local government, healthcare, businesses, media, civic/volunteer groups.
… because a group with a common goal can achieve so much more than an individual alone.
The Healthy Community Coalition (HCC) promotes and coordinates partnerships between local organizations and individuals with the goal of creating environments that are alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free. We focus on the following:
-
Building links and strengthening relationships with those in the community who are working to accomplish common goals.
-
Working to change the way communities view alcohol, tobacco, and drug misuse by being a resource for current information, and by providing evidence-based programs and education.
-
Assisting communities with prevention planning and technical assistance to implement drug-free events and programming.
-
Encouraging our youth to be substance-free and offering them opportunities to make a difference in their community.
-
Impacting public policy by informing local, state, and federal lawmakers regarding the needs of county residents.
